Adult Psychologist

Adult psychology is concerned with all aspects of an adult’s development from early adulthood to late adulthood. An adult psychologist works with adults to provide support with issues that impact upon their development, well-being and mental health, in the context of lifespan development and the aging process.

Psychologists assess and diagnose mental health disorders, learning disabilities, learning disorders, neuro-developmental disorders, and neuro-cognitive disorders, and offer tailored psychological and psychotherapeutic interventions which are research-proven to be effective. A psychological assessment and intervention helps adults to better understand their individual strengths and challenges, and how best to address their individual needs. This leads to improved well-being and functioning, and a better quality of life.

Some adults opt for an informal approach to assessment with the key focus on intervention, whilst others opt for a formal assessment and diagnosis. Psychology appointments are tailored to the needs and preferences of each client.
